Our Counseling Model

Learning the flow and work of the counseling relationship

Our level 2 training course is the heart of what we offer. The format and information is the foundation of our model of Christian (lay) counseling.  It is a combination of content (taught live or via 10 new videos available online) and practice.

The content covers the stages and key elements in our model: from the opening session involving assessment and creating a safe and welcoming setting, to the final session where the relationship and the process are debriefed. Topics like empathy, tinkering, childhood suffering, gender, and ‘resistance to change’ are also covered.

The group practice portion (done live in one setting or virtually on zoom) involves practice being both a client (allowing other group members to counsel you) and a counselor (counseling other group members when they are the client). The facilitators of the groups oversee the counseling and stop to evaluate and process both good and less helpful interactions. This gives the participants a taste of supervision.

The combination of teaching and practice allows you to walk away better equipped to counsel, disciple, and mentor others with a Bible-based approach that provides hope & encouragement, and serves as a catalyst for real change.

Cost:
Live, In-Person: $350/person or $500/couple
With Videos: $250/person
