Training Schedule
Level 2 Training sessions:
Those recommended for lay counselor training and other helping ministries will be encouraged to enter LCI’s Level 2 Training. It meets weekly for a 2-hour evening session over a period of 20 weeks for specific training in the counseling process.
Level 2 Training’s areas of focus are:
- Familiarity with the stages of counseling – assessment, establishing trust, exploring the issues, critical points in pursuing change and growth, and termination
- The goal of counseling and a counseling model
- Sexuality and identity
- Dealing with shame, contempt, trauma and loss
- Cutting through layers, overcoming resistance and defenses
